Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

At WhatsMetrics we take the privacy of our users very seriously. This policy describes how we handle personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and international best practices.

The most important thing in one line

If you use WhatsMetrics without an account, we have no data about you. The analysis happens on your device and we never receive anything. We only collect data if you create a Pro account, and only what is necessary to operate the service.

1. Data Controller

WhatsMetrics, a platform developed by Ardudev (hereinafter "the Controller"), with digital presence at whatsmetrics.com, is responsible for processing the personal data you provide to us or that is generated during your use of our services.

For any matter related to this Privacy Policy, you can contact us at:

  • Email: privacy@whatsmetrics.com
  • Website: whatsmetrics.com
  • 2. Personal data we collect

    Free tool users (no registration):

We do not collect any personal data. WhatsApp chat analysis is performed entirely in the user's browser. The text file (.txt) is never transmitted to our servers or third parties. When you close the tab, the processed data disappears permanently.

    Registered users (Pro plan):

For account creation we only collect:

  • Name or username
  • Email address
  • Password (stored encrypted, never in plain text)
  • Authentication method used (email/password or OAuth provider such as Google)
  • Data generated by use of the service (Pro plan):

  • Chats and reports that the user chooses to save to the cloud
  • Date and time of service access
  • Device type and browser (for technical diagnosis)
  • 3. Purposes of processing

Primary purposes (necessary for the provision of the service):

  • Create and manage your user account
  • Store chats and reports when the user explicitly requests it
  • Provide technical support and handle requests
  • Process payments and manage Pro plan subscriptions
  • Secondary purposes (you can object without affecting the service):

  • Sending communications about new features or product updates
  • Aggregated and anonymous statistical analysis to improve the platform
  • To object to the processing of your data for secondary purposes, you can send an email to privacy@whatsmetrics.com with the subject "Objection - Secondary Purposes".

    4. Privacy by design

WhatsMetrics was built under the principle of privacy by design:

  • Chat analysis is 100% local: processing occurs in the user's browser via JavaScript. The WhatsApp .txt file never leaves the user's device.
  • Data minimization: we only collect the information strictly necessary for each feature.
  • No data selling: we never sell, rent or transfer personal data to third parties for their own commercial purposes.
  • Encryption in transit and at rest: all communication between the client and our servers uses TLS. Data stored in the cloud is encrypted at rest.
  • 5. Data transfers to third parties

For the operation of the service we use the following providers, who act as data processors and are subject to their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase Inc. — storage of Pro user data (databases and authentication). Servers in the European Union with GDPR compliance.
  • Payment providers (coming soon) — for managing Pro subscriptions. They will only receive information necessary to complete the transaction.
  • Google LLC — optional OAuth authentication (only if the user chooses "Sign in with Google").
  • We do not transfer data to third parties for purposes other than those described in this notice, except by legal mandate or order of a competent authority.

    6. Your rights

Under applicable data protection legislation, you have the right to:

  • Access: know what personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure: request the deletion of your data
  • Objection: object to the processing of your data for specific purposes
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (EU users under GDPR)
  • How to exercise your rights?

Send an email to privacy@whatsmetrics.com with:

  • 1. Full name and registered email
  • 2. Clear description of the right you wish to exercise
  • 3. Documentation proving your identity
  • We will respond within a maximum of 30 days.

EU users: you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

    7. Cookies and tracking technologies

Users without an account: we do not use tracking cookies, third-party analytics or tracking pixels. The site is fully functional without any cookies.

Logged-in users: we use strictly necessary session cookies to maintain authentication state. These cookies are deleted when you sign out or when the session expires.

We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing cookies, or share browsing data with advertising networks.

    8. Minors

WhatsMetrics is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not intentionally collect personal data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and are aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can proceed with its immediate deletion.

    9. Security measures
